Spar varnish should never be applied over recently applied TotalBoat Danish Teak Sealer. For instances where the Danish Teak Sealer has had at least a few weeks to be absorbed and dry, it is still recommended to use a teak cleaner product to remove any potential contaminants or undried oils. The teak should always be sanded prior to applying any spar varnish products, and then wiped down with a solvent wipe prior to applying varnish. This process will essentially remove the Danish Teak Sealer from the wood, and give any spar varnish product the best foundation to bond to.
