Wood sealers, such as Semco, Owatrol Deks Olje, and TotalBoat Danish Teak Sealer, are great at protecting and sealing wood to enhance the natural wood grain appearance, without leaving a film on the wood. You will find that teak sealers are generally linseed oil based, with UV resistance, mildewcides, and sometimes a colorant. For best results, these products recommend cleaning with a teak cleaner, and sanding the wood until smooth. But how do the different color options look?

Owatrol Deks Olje D.1 is primarily an oil sealer that leaves a natural oil-on-wood tonal appearance and becomes a matte finish once it is absorbed. This product is unique in that it can be blended or overcoated with Deks Olje D.2 (a varnish), forming a film on the surface, and adding a gloss finish to the final product.
