TotalBoat Halcyon varnish can be applied over linseed oil, however, the linseed oil must be left for long enough to polymerize into a hard, sandable material before applying Halcon. Boiled linseed oil may take a few days to dry until it can be sanded, while raw linseed oil may take a couple weeks. Once dried, lightly sand the linseed oil with 220- or 320-grit sandpaper prior to applying Halcyon.
