TotalBoat Halcyon varnish has the unique ability to be recoated in as little as 1-hour if it has dried to the touch, but it is strongly advised to keep it to a maximum of 5 coats per day. Though each layer needs to be tack-free to be recoated, the dry films of Halcyon have not been given time to develop a good level of hardness. This makes it susceptible to accidental scratches, imprints, or dents. If more than 5 coats are applied in a single day it may take excessively longer until it is ready sand, or develop acceptable hardness for normal use.
