TotalBoat Lust Marine Varnish can generally be applied over most stain products that are available on the market, but the Minwax® brand stain products have given some difficulties achieving proper adhesion when applying Lust to it. The Minwax brand varnishes and wood finish products are designed to work as a complete system with their own products.
