TotalBoat antifouling bottom paints can be applied directly over most coal tar epoxy primers if they have been recently applied and are tack-free, but still soft to the touch. If the coal tar epoxy primer has been able to cure for an extended period of time, apply another coat of the coal tar epoxy primer, or apply an epoxy primer, following the antifouling overcoat instructions on the primer used.
