TotalBoat AlumiPaint AF is made for aluminum boats and pontoon boats. This copper-free antifouling bottom paint provides eco-friendly, full-season bottom protection. Ablative action continuously releases fresh organic biocide and slime-fighting zinc to combat hard and soft marine growth.

Surface Preparation
- Change rags frequently when solvent wiping to remove all contaminants.
- Allow surfaces to dry completely between steps.
- Mask off areas not to be painted.
Aluminum
- Remove debris and rust.
- Sandblast or grind to bare metal (2–3 mil profile).
- Clean with TotalBoat Dewaxer & Surface Prep.
- Apply TotalBoat Aluminum Boat Barrier Coat within 1 hour.
Bare Steel or Iron
- Remove debris and rust.
- Sandblast or grind to bare metal.
- Clean and apply TotalBoat TotalProtect.
Previously Painted Surfaces
- Apply only over compatible coatings in good condition.
- Sand and clean using TotalBoat Brushing Thinner 100 or TotalBoat Dewaxer & Surface Prep.
Application Over Barrier Coats
Thumbprint-Tacky Method
- Apply when coating is tacky but does not transfer to finger.
Sanding Method
- Wait 24 hours, sand with 80-grit, clean thoroughly, and apply.
Application Conditions
- 50–90°F, under 90% humidity
- Avoid direct sunlight and moisture
Application Methods
- Apply 1–2 coats per season
- Extra coats recommended for high-wear areas
- Apply at 2.5–3 mils wet film thickness
Dry Time to Launch
- 2 hours @ 90°F
- 4 hours @ 70°F
- 8 hours @ 50°F
Brushing/Rolling Instructions
- Thinning typically not required
- If needed, thin 5–10% with TotalBoat Brushing Thinner 100
- Use 3/16" rollers only
Spraying Instructions
- Thin up to 5% with TotalBoat Spray Thinner 101
- Recommended nozzle size: 1.8–2mm
Maintenance
Check regularly for buildup. Do not scrub for the first six months. Clean every three months thereafter.

RAGS, STEEL WOOL, OR WASTE SOAKED WITH THIS PRODUCT MAY SPONTANEOUSLY CATCH FIRE IF DISCARDED IMPROPERLY.
