TotalBoat Spartan antifouling bottom paint can be burnished by wet sanding or with a Scotch-Brite® type pad to make the surface smoother. This is commonly done in the water where the paint is softer, which makes it easier to do, while removing any algae or aquatic growth that has formed. Always use the least abrasive/finest sandpaper grit that adequately polishes the surface, while taking special care not to remove too much paint.
