As a general rule, spray application is not recommended for most bottom paints because they're too thick to spray without thinning, and thinned paint will not contain enough biocide to be effective.
Some bottom paints, such as Interlux VC17 and VC Performance, can be sprayed with an airless sprayer using their recommended thinner.
Spraying of antifouling paints is prohibited in Canada.
Always refer to the bottom paint manufacturer's recommendations to determine whether spray application is an option.
