As a general rule, most antifouling bottom paints can be used in both salt water and fresh water, with one exception—Interlux Micron 66 is for salt water use only.
Many customers choose to use a copper-free paint in fresh water in order to be more environmentally friendly. Copper-free paints use Econea™ as the biocide instead of copper. Some examples of copper-free antifouling bottom paints include:
