As a general rule, most antifouling bottom paints can be used in both saltwater and freshwater, with one exception—Interlux Micron 66 is for salt water use only.
Many customers choose to use a copper-free paint in fresh water in order to be more environmentally friendly. Copper-free paints use Econea™ as the biocide instead of copper. Some examples of copper-free antifouling bottom paints include:
