TotalBoat Spray Thinner 101 is a fast-drying reducing solvent designed to optimize spray application of compatible TotalBoat coatings. It improves atomization, flow, and finish quality, and can also be used for cold weather brushing and rolling, tool cleanup, and surface preparation.

Application

Spray Application

• Add thinner slowly to coating prior to application
• Mix thoroughly until desired viscosity is achieved
• Typical reduction: 10–20% by volume
• Start with minimal amount and increase gradually
• Actual thinning depends on ambient conditions, product, and spray equipment
• Over-thinning may reduce gloss, cause sagging, poor atomization, or extended dry times

Cold Weather Brushing and Rolling

• Recommended when temperatures are below 60°F
• Typical reduction: 5–10% by volume
• Add small amounts and increase as needed
• Thinner may need to be added during application due to evaporation
• Do not over-thin coatings

Tool and Equipment Cleanup

• Effective cleaner for tools and equipment used with compatible coatings

Surface Preparation Solvent Wipe

• Can be used as a solvent wipe before applying coatings
• Ensure substrate is compatible and fully cured
• Use clean, lint-free cotton rags
