Interlux Intergrip No-skid Compound can be used with Interlux Brightside Polyurethane, Interlux Perfection Plus, or Interlux Premium Yacht enamel to provide a non-skid surface on decks and cabin tops. Intergrip can either be sprinkled onto wet paint or mixed in with the finish paint.
When broadcasting Intergrip by hand onto wet paint, the amount of Intergrip needed per square foot depends on how much texture you want. Sprinkle it on, as needed, to obtain the desired texture. To keep the Intergrip layer from being too heavy, put the additive in a salt shaker to help dispense it evenly.
When mixing the additive into the paint prior to application, add 4-6 ounces of Intergrip per quart, by volume, and stir to blend thoroughly. While applying, stir every few minutes so the non-skid particles remain in suspension.
For an easy way to get a non-skid surface, apply a one-part polyurethane that has the non-skid particles already mixed in, such as Interlux Interdeck or TotalBoat TotalTread.
