TotalBoat Wet Edge can be applied to PVC substrates, but the substrate must be properly prepared, and even still it might not have the same bond strength as it would to fiberglass, wood, or a previously painted surface. Always test in a small, inconspicuous spot to ensure a good bond and the desired results.
Always clean the PVC substrate thoroughly, removing any grease, dirt, wax, or other contaminants. Sand the PVC with 180- or 220-grit sandpaper. Wipe the surface with a clean, lint-free cotton rag wetted with acetone. Do not allow the wetted rag or extra acetone to sit on the surface of the PVC as it will permanently become a gummy material - it only needs a brief wiping with the acetone. Allow the surface to completely dry (should only be a minute or two, at most). Apply Wet Edge directly to the PVC.
