- The best time to paint is on warm, dry mornings - cold weather slows drying, and dampness spoils the gloss.
- Dampen the ground with water before commencing painting to avoid any dust rising.
- Always use high-quality fine line masking tape to ensure crisp lines.
- When painting large areas, the best finish can be achieved by two people—one to apply the paint with a roller, the other following immediately behind with a brush to smooth the finish. This method is known as rolling & tipping.
- Never apply paint directly from the can because doing so will introduce contamination.
- Stir the can occasionally during the work.
- Always use the best quality brushes for topside finishes.
- To minimize brush marks, hold the brush at a 45° angle.
- Change brushes every 20 minutes or so.
- Use a worn brush for the final coat, this will ensure fewer brush marks.
