TotalBoat Elixir will form a decent bond to PVC substrates, but the bond strength of the paint is very dependent on the surface preparation. The surface must be scuff-sanded with either 320-grit sandpaper, or a Scotch-Brite® pad until it has an even, frosty texture. Wiping the surface with acetone prior to applying paint can also help clean the surface, as well as provide a surface that will help the paint to create a good bond.
