TotalBoat FixWood Epoxy Putty is ideal for repairing damaged or rotted wood indoors and outdoors. This 2-part repair compound bonds strongly to wood and other porous materials without running or sagging. Simply mix the two components in a 1:1 ratio and apply. Upon full cure, TotalBoat FixWood can be shaped, sanded, painted, primed, stained, and fastened. This 100% waterproof compound won’t crack or shrink, making it suitable for permanent repairs to non-structural woodwork.

Surface Preparation
- Areas of wood that are punky or soft from rot or dry rot should first be treated with TotalBoat Penetrating Epoxy, as directed.
- The surface must be clean, dry, and free of grease or oil before applying TotalBoat FixWood.
- In the area to be treated, sand the wood with 60-120 grit sandpaper.
- Remove all sanding residue before applying TotalBoat FixWood.
Mixing and Handling
- Always wear disposable nitrile or latex gloves when mixing and using TotalBoat FixWood.
- Mix 1 part FixWood PART A – RESIN with 1 part PART B – HARDENER by volume.
- Do not add extra resin or hardener.
- Mix by hand until the putty achieves a consistent color, without any resin-rich or hardener-rich areas.
- Mix only as much material as can be used in 20 minutes.
Application
- Apply and mold by hand or with tools, as desired.
- When filling holes or gouges, work the TotalBoat FixWood into the cavity as much as possible to displace any air.
- Overfill the cavity so it can be sanded smooth after cure.
- TotalBoat FixWood will be tack free in 2 hours and sandable in 6 hours at 72°F.
- In cooler conditions, cure time will be longer.
- In warmer conditions, the product will become sandable sooner.
Cleanup
Clean up with acetone, denatured alcohol, or lacquer thinner before TotalBoat FixWood has cured. Once cured, it must be removed mechanically.
Storage
- Store at 60-90°F in a dry place.
- After use, tightly reseal all containers.
- Store products on a raised surface off the floor during cold weather.
- Avoid storing near outside walls or doors.
- Epoxy resins contaminated with dust or moisture, or subjected to low temperatures, may crystallize.
- Do not use material that shows any sign of crystallization until it has been liquefied.
- A crystallized resin or hardener can be returned to its original state by heating the material to 140°F to 150°F and stirring until it returns to the liquid state.
Safety Handling
Work in well-ventilated areas using gloves, eye protection, and clothing protection. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Avoid clothing contamination. Wash thoroughly after handling. These products may cause skin and respiratory allergic reactions. Consult Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for complete health and safety information.
