TotalBoat TotalFair can be applied over TotalBoat Topside Primer only when it is limited to smaller areas, or finer fairing. It is also relying only on a mechanical bond, so the surface must be completely cured, and sanded with 80-120 grit sandpaper, then cleaned with denatured alcohol prior to applying TotalFair.
IMPORTANT! It is strongly recommended to apply TotalBoat TotalFair directly to the substrate and perform all fairing prior to applying Topside Primer.
When cured, the TotalFair epoxy fairing compound will be a much harder and stiffer material than the primer. Under normal flexing, expansion, and contraction, deeper areas of TotalFair may have a tendency to release, while thinner applications of TotalFair should be able to flex with the substrate.
