Most consumer product epoxy systems have resin manufactured using Bisphenol A, but this chemical is fully reacted during the manufacturing process, so there are only trace amounts left over. It's actually the hardener that determines whether a resin can be marketed as 'BPA-free'. Most TotalBoat epoxy systems meet this definition of 'BPA-free'. BPA-free systems include:
- TotalBoat TableTop Epoxy
- TotalBoat MakerPoxy by Jess Crow
- TotalBoat ThickSet Epoxy
- TotalBoat High Performance Epoxy
However, the TotalBoat Traditional 5:1 Epoxy system is not BPA-free. It does not meet this definition, because BPA is used as an accelerator in the TotalBoat 5:1 Fast Hardener and 5:1 Slow Hardener.
