What is the maximum thickness per layer of a table top epoxy?

There are a lot of liquid epoxy products available for coating and encapsulating applications that make beautiful, bar, counter, and table tops. The two main categories are coating epoxies and casting epoxies. Though both types can be used for coating, embedding, encapsulating, and casting, each has its advantages and disadvantages, as noted below.
