In many cases, the shipping company will not deliver the product if they notice any leaks from the outside of the shipping container, but if an epoxy product is damaged, contact TotalBoat directly (800-497-0010) for specific instructions before disposing of the product.
DO NOT THROW OUT LEAKING OR PARTIAL EPOXY BOTTLES WITHOUT PROPER DISPOSAL.
The first step to disposing of leaky epoxy bottles is to transfer the remaining product from the leaky bottle into a new container that can be properly resealed.
Leaking epoxy can be cleaned up with white vinegar or denatured alcohol.
Before disposing of the bottle into the trash, react the remaining residual material in the bottle by adding a small amount of the other component into the leaky bottle. Slowly turn and spin the bottle around. This will allow the residual material to mix and react. The remaining material will become inert and safe for disposal.
If there is no other component to react with the leaking bottle, the bottle can be rinsed with white vinegar or denatured alcohol, then this liquid material must be left to evaporate in a safe place before disposal.
