TotalBoat Thixo will form a decent bond to Azek® and other PVC lumber if it has been properly prepared, but it generally is not recommended as a standalone bonding material. Synthetic lumber materials such as Azek® will expand and contract in different environmental conditions, similarly to wood lumber, but it may be at a different rate. This natural expansion and contraction, in addition to the lower bond strength when compared to wood lumber, can lead to delamination and bond failure. It is always recommended to use mechanical fasteners in addition to Thixo when bonding to Azek® or other PVC lumber.
