Does wood need to be sealed and stabilized prior to encapsulating it with TotalBoat Cast N Turn resin?

To prevent bubbles, it is extremely important to stabilize any wood or porous materials that are to be encapsulated with TotalBoat Cast N Turn. It's also very important to stabilize wood if the casting is to be used as a turning blank. Stabilizing the wood will prevent weak spots that may lead to breaking, when turned.

Stabilize wood or other porous materials by placing the material in a stabilizing resin material such as Cactus Juice, and then place it in a vacuum chamber. The vacuum will displace any air in the wood, and fill voids with the resin.
