Tipping TotalBoat Wet Edge topside paint with a brush is not a required method to apply paint, because a lot of the time this application method is just not feasible or possible. The advantage to tipping is that it can help maintain a more even paint film thickness, pop any bubbles in the wet paint, reduce any stipple from the roller cover, and reduce overlapping. Under many circumstances, tipping can be avoided if extreme care is taken while applying the paint, and if the paint is thinned for proper flow, wet edge, and self-leveling. Using smaller, high-quality roller covers such as the Arroworthy Mighty-Mini foam rollers can be very helpful when the paint is not being tipped. A smaller roller offers more control, and less wasted paint.
