Which paint strainer should be used for marine varnishes and topside paints?

Marine spar varnishes can be adequately strained with medium paint strainers for most applications. However, varnishes and clear coat products can benefit from the use of fine paint strainers to remove even the smallest debris from the coating. Medium paint strainers also offer great results with marine topside paints.

There are no issues stemming from the use of a finer paint strainer than required, but it may take longer to strain.
