Can varnish be tinted with mica powder?

Mica powder can be added to varnishes to give off a colorful, metallic tone. Always perform a test sample to ensure that it gives the desired results when working with different varnishes and substrates. It is strongly recommended to stir the varnish continuously while applying to get the most even dispersion of mica powder possible, as the mica powder will settle. Applying the mica powder in the first layer versus the final layer of varnish will also give a different appearance.
