Can TotalBoat Gelcoat be used to coat a gas tank?

TotalBoat Gelcoat is not designed for direct, prolonged contact with gasoline, and should not be used inside the gas tank. TotalBoat Gelcoat can be used on the surfaces of fiberglass gas tanks where it will not be in continuous contact with gasoline.

The surface prep prior to applying gelcoat to a fiberglass gas tank is dictated by the resin type that is used to construct the tank.
