What is the difference between twill and plain weave composite cloth?

Plain weave has a tighter, more symmetrical weave that stays together better when cut. It is inherently a less pliable weave, which can make it more of a challenge to manipulate. Twill is usually a larger weave with fewer weave points, which allows for longer straight runs of the fiber, giving a slight increase in strength over plain weave. Aside from handling and strength, each cloth has a different aesthetic appearance.
